David Lucas to Attend Chicago Camp Next Week

June 3, 2005

Corvallis - Oregon State senior forward David Lucas will participate in next week's prestigious Chicago pre-NBA Draft camp, which runs June 7-10.

The Chicago camp is the top opportunity for prospects to show off their skills prior to the June 28 draft. Around 70 players will take part in the camp, which includes those who applied for early entry into the draft.

'I just got word that I'm going,' Lucas said. 'It feels good. I'm very happy that I get to go. I'll work hard to try to impress all the teams.'

Lucas previously took part in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April, another top gathering of former college players. He made the all-tournament team, averaged 14.3 points and helped his team to a second-place finish.

Lucas became OSU's first two-time All-Pac-10 first team player since 1993 this past season despite missing the first 10 games of the season with a toe injury. He averaged team highs of 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds and helped OSU to its first winning season since 1989-90. He surpassed the 1,000-point margin for his career in his final game.
