Seven Cardinal Netters Earn All-America Honors

Stanford, Calif. - Seven Cardinal tennis players were selected for All-America accolades, as five women and two men were honored. Seniors Erin Burdette and Sam Warburg, juniors Alice Barnes, K.C. Corkery and Amber Liu, along with sophomores Theresa Logar and Anne Yelsey each finished the 2005 season as All-Americans.

Burdette, the 2005 NCAA Doubles Champion, becomes the 13th Stanford woman to earn All-America honors four times during her collegiate career. Liu, Barnes and Warburg are all three-time honorees.

Individuals earn All-America accolades for singles by earning a top-16 seed at the NCAA Championships, reaching the Round of 16 or finishing in the top-20 in the ITA rankings and for doubles by earning a top-eight seed, reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament or finishing in the top-10 in the ITA rankings.

The Tennis Channel ( will broadcast the final doubles mat of the year, as Barnes and Burdette defeated Liu and Yelsey for the 2005 NCAA Doubles Championship in Athens, Ga. The event will air this Saturday, please check local listings for specific times.
