OSU Has Two On Louisville Slugger All-America Squad

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State's Dallas Buck and Jacoby Ellsbury have been named to the Louisville Slugger All-America baseball team, it was announced recently. Buck (Newberg, Ore./Newberg HS), a sophomore pitcher, was named to the first team and Ellsbury (Madras, Ore./Madras HS), a junior outfielder, was named to the second team on the squad is chosen by the staff of Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
Buck, a righthander, was 11-1 with a 1.93 earned run average during the regular season, pitching 107 innings and allowing just 72 hits and 38 walks while striking out 109. He earned a no-decision but allowed just two earned runs in 7 1/3 innings as second-ranked Oregon State beat Ohio State 4-3 in the Beavers' opening game of last weekend's Corvallis Regional.
Ellsbury batted .415 with six home runs, two triples, 17 doubles and 42 runs batted in and stole 21 bases during the regular season. In last weekend's Corvallis Regional, he was 6-for-14 with one triple, one double and four runs batted in and stole one base.
