Women's Rowing Signs Three To Letters Of Intent

The UCLA Women's Rowing Team has announced the signing of three high school seniors to national letters of intent. Bree Hemingway, Tory Kaso, and Larisa Pender-Healy will all join the Bruin rowing team in fall 2005. The addition of these three signees brings the total number of recruits for next year's rowing class to eight women who have signed national letters of intent along with an additional seven recruited student-athletes.
Bree Hemingway attends Grossmont High School in San Diego, and rows for the San Diego Rowing Club. This has been Hemingway's first year of rowing. At Grossmont she was a four year letter winner for basketball and track.
Tory Kaso, from Oakland, attends Holy Names School and rows for theOakland Strokes rowing club. This year she was a member of the varsity eight that won the US Rowing Southwest Region junior championship and will defend their title at the US Rowing Youth Invitational next weekend. She will also be competing at the Women's Henley Regatta this summer. Kaso's older sister just graduated from USC, where she was a member of their rowing team.
Larisa Pender-Healy lives in Austin, Texas, where she attends Westlake High School. She has been rowing for four years and can both scull and sweep row. She is a member of the Austin Rowing Club. Her Austin Rowing Club crew won the Women's Junior Quad race at the US Rowing Youth Invitational last year.
