Jeff Larish to Appear on Sportscenter Tuesday Night

June 21, 2005

OMAHA, Neb. - Arizona State University slugger Jeff Larish, who belted three home runs to tie a College World Series record Tuesday afternoon, will join Steve Levy on ESPN's SportsCenter tonight during the 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. Arizona) showing. The Sun Devil senior will chat about his stellar play today at the College World Series during the second segment of the nightly show.

Larish opened the game with a solo blast to left center field to give ASU an early 1-0 lead. Then, in the third inning, Larish struck again, this time taking a pitch over the right field wall to push the ASU advantage to 2-0. After both teams battled the remainder of the innings with Larish picking up two walks, Nebraska took a 7-5 lead in the top of the ninth inning.

After ASU scored one run in the bottom half of the stanza and with the bases empty and two out, Larish poked a shot to straight-away center field for his third solo shot of the day to knot the game at seven and send it into extra innings. The Sun Devils would add a run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the contest, 8-7, and advance to face Florida for a berth in the Championship Series.
