Arizona Heat Sign Jennifer Spediacci

TUCSON, Ariz.-- Former Washington All-American and Italian Olympic Team member Jennifer Spediacci has signed with the Arizona Heat of the National Pro Fastpitch League. Spediacci becomes the third Washington alum to join the six-team league.
Spediacci played at UW from 1997-2000 and led the Huskies to four straight Women's College World Series appearances. Spediacci rewrote the UW record books, holding several single season and career records. Her single season records include; ERA (0.67), shutouts (16) and strikeouts (316). She also holds the career records for; ERA (1.10), wins (100), shutouts (40), strikeouts (894) and innings pitched (820).
Spediacci left Washington with a number of accolades. She earned First-Team All-American honors in 2000, as well as Second-Team honors in 1998. In 2000, Spediacci was awarded the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year Award.
Jennifer will join the Heat this weekend when it takes on former Husky Jaime Clark (2000-03) and the Chicago Bandits. Former UW All-American Jenny Topping (2000) also plays in the NPF with the Akron Racers.
