Prugh Wins State Amateur

Moses Lake, WA - Washington junior Alex Prugh of Spokane carded a 3-under 69 during the final round of the 79th Washington State Golf Association's Amateur Championship to win the tournament by two strokes. Prugh shot 10-under 278 to beat sophomore teammate Zach Bixler of Richland by two shots.

The 72-hole event concluded Friday at The Links at Moses Pointe in Moses Lake.

Prugh had rounds of 70, 69, 70 and 69. He was the only player in the tournament to shoot below par in each round. Bixler posted scores of 69, 74, 69 and 68. Former Husky Derek Berg was fifth at 285.
