NGCA Announces Division I All-America Scholar Teams

July 14, 2005

Stanford, Calif. - The National Golf Coaches Association announced the 2004-05 All-American Scholar Golf Teams for Division I, II & III. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Three Stanford women's golfers were tabbed to the team including Kelly Husted (Sarasota, FL), Wendra Liang (San Francisco, CA) and Jenna Seki (Honolulu, HI).

Husted competed in all 12 events for the Cardinal during the 2004-05 season, with three top 10 and five top 25 finishes. She led the team with a 74.8 stroke average as well. Liang, Stanford's lone senior, also competed in all 12 events, posting two top 25 finishes during the season, including a tie for 13th at the Peg Bernard Collegiate. Seki competed in six events last season, turning in her best finish, a tie for 40th, at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational.
