Summer Swim Schedule Begins This Weekend for UCLA

A group of UCLA swimmers will head to USC beginning on Thursday, July 14 through Sunday, July 17 for the Janet Evans Invitational to kick off their summer competition.
Sophomore-to-be Nicolette Teo will be the lone representative for the Bruins at the World Championships in Montreal (July 17-31) as she swims for Singapore in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. Former Bruin and current undergraduate assistant Malin Svahnstrom also qualified for the World Championships for her native Sweden in the 800 Free Relay, but declined the trip.
The Bruin swimmers will also compete in the U.S. Nationals July 14-16.
Vandenberg, along with Head Coach Cyndi Gallagher, will head to the World University Games beginning on August 7th. Gallagher is an assistant for the U.S. team while Vandenberg will be competing in the 200 Fly.
The divers will also be in action, beginning next weekend, as current, former and future Bruin divers will head crosstown to USC for the US Senior National Zone D Championships (July 22-24). Slated to dive next week are - Janine Strack, Paige Thompson, Amanda Blong, Sara Clark, Brittany Renfrow, and incoming freshmen Marisa Samaniego, Tess Schofield and Brittany Hill.
The U.S. Diving Senior National Championships, held in Huntersville, NC August 9-13, already will feature one current Bruin, as senior-to-be Thompson has already prequalified due to her sixth-place finish at last year's Senior National Meet.
