Galindo Lifts USA team to World Cup Title Game

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.-- Former Cal standout Vicky Galindo hit a grand slam in the USA Softball Women's national team's 7-0 win against 2004 bronze medalist Japan, Saturday, propelling Team USA into the championship game of the first ever World Cup of Softball.
Galindo, former Golden Bear third baseman, leads the U.S. in hitting with a .625 average. Team USA faces Japan in the title game tonight at 5 p.m., which will be aired live on ESPN2.
A two-time first team All-American, Galindo completed her Cal career this past June at the Women's College World Series. As a senior in 2005, she batted .324 with 49 runs scored, 11 doubles, four home runs and 19 stolen bases.
