Rankin Runs Away With Second Win in Sweden

Recent graduate Jon Rankin won his second post-collegiate race on Thursday, July 21 in Norkoping, Sweden as he ran away with a convincing victory in the 1500m.
Rankin, who had won the 800m race (1:47.61) at a meet in Karlstad, Sweden this past weekend, recorded his second victory in a week as he won the 1500m in a new personal best 3:38.90. His old personal best of 3:39.71 was set in the semifinals of the USATF Senior National Championships in June.
Rankin, running in cool, rainy and windy conditions, recorded splits of 57.5 (400m), 1:56 (800m), 2:53 (1200m) and 3:38.90 (1500m).
Last weekend in Karlstad, Sweden, competing in his UCLA jersey in front of 8,000 people, Rankin defeated the Swedish National Champion handily in the (A) 800m race in 1:47.61, running just off his personal best (1:47.11).
Rankin will next head to Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, July 23 to compete in the 800m as he continues his summer competition schedule.
