Prugh Moves Up at Western Amateur

Benton Harbor, MI - Washington junior Alex Prugh shot 1-over 71 for the second straight day to advance to the third round of play at the 103rd Western Amateur Golf Championship at the Point O'Woods Golf and Country Club in Benton Harbor, Mich. Prugh's score moved him up two spots to 18th at 2-over 142.

Brian Carroll of Crystal Lake, Ill., continues to lead the field at 6-under 134.

Husky junior Erik Olson and sophomore Joe Panzeri both failed to advance after tying for 61st after the first 36 holes of competition. Only the top 50 players move on to Friday's third and fourth rounds, where the field is cut to 16 players.

Olson shot 6-over 76 Thursday while Panzeri carded a 3-over 73. Both players finished at 8-over 148.
