Three Huskies Prepare for U.S. Women's Amateur

Seattle - Three members of the Washington women's golf team will compete in the U.S. Women's Amateur this week. Senior Paige Mackenzie, junior Amber Prange and sophomore Kim Shin will tee off Monday afternoon at the Settingdown Creek Course at Ansley Golf Club in Roswell, Ga. The tournament runs through Sunday, Aug. 7.

Mackenzie has the earliest tee time of the trio. She is schedule to start her round at 2:03 p.m. EDT from the 10th teen. Prange tees off at 2:09 from the first tee and Shin begins her round at 2:36 off of No. 10.

Last year Shin advanced to the second round of match plat at the tournament.

The U.S. Women's Amateur is open to female amateurs who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4. The tournament features 36 holes of stroke play before the field is cut down for match play.

The Golf Channel will televise match play Aug. 3-7 from 4-6 p.m. EDT.
