Aug. 2, 2005

Roswell, GA - The good news for Husky golfers Paige Mackenzie and Amber Prange was that they both advanced through stroke play to the match play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at Settingdown Creek Course at Ansley Golf Club in Roswell, Ga. Mackenzie completed stroke play tied for 15th at 146 with rounds of 72 and 74. Prange shot 73 and 78th to place 42nd at 151. The draw for match play paired up the Huskies. They are scheduled to tee off at 12:25 p.m. EDT

Husky sophomore Kim Shin failed to advance after finishing 129th at 165.

In-Kyung Kim, 17, of Korea, was medalist at 5-under 139. She shot 1-under 71 Tuesday.

The tournament runs through Aug. 7.
