USC Football Ranked No. 1 In USA Today Coaches Pre-Season Poll

It's official. The two-time defending national champion USC football team will start off the 2005 season right where it left off last year: ranked No. 1.

The pre-season USA Today coaches poll released today (Aug. 5) has the Trojans ranked No. 1, with all but two of a possible 62 first place votes. It's the first time in the 15 years that USA Today has administered the poll that a team received more than 47 first place votes.
