Cassidy Krug And Nancilea Underwood Win Gold At Senior Nationals

Hunterville, N.C. - Current Stanford diver Cassidy Krug (2005-06 junior) and her diving partner Nancilea Underwood won the gold medal in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event Thursday at the 2005 US Speedo National Senior Diving Championships. The duo, which spent most of this summer training together at USA Diving's national training center in Indianapolis, posted a winning score of 282.06 points. Both won their first national title of any kind.

Krug also competed in prelim/quarterfinal action of the 1-meter competition on Thursday but just missed a spot in the semifinals by taking ninth with a score of 235.77. Kelci Bryant ended up winning the event with a 279.60 score.

The five-day meet at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics Center continues Friday on the women's side with the finals of the women's platform. No Stanford affiliates have qualified for the event. The meet ends for the women on Saturday with finals in the 3-meter and platform synchro competition.
