Men's Golf Roundup

Players on the UCLA men's golf team have been competing in a variety of tournaments recently and their results are reviewed here.
At the Scratch Players Championship, Aug. 8-10 at the Bayonet Course in Seaside, CA, sophomore Kevin Chappell tied for eighth place at 290 (+2) after posting scores of 74-70-73-73. Sophomore Daniel Im finished 33rd at 301 (+13) with scores of 75-72-75-79. Former Bruin John Poucher and junior Peter Campbell did not make the 54-hole cut and tied for 40th and 62nd, respectively. Junior Chris Heintz and sophomore Matt Marshall each tied for 79th after missing the 36-hole cut.
Chappell also placed sixth at the Pacific Coast Amateur, Aug. 2-5 at Bandon Dunes Resort in Bandon, OR. He posted scores of 69-77-72-72-290 (+4). Incoming freshmen Erik Flores tied for 21st place with scores of 75-72-72-77-296 (+10) and James Lee tied for 51st at 304 (+18).
At the men's North & South Amateur, Aug. 1-7 at Pinehurst #2, Campbell advanced to the third round of match play. He defeated Patton Kizzire in 20 holes in the first round. He beat Bradley Wilder 6 & 5 in the second round. He lost 4 & 3 in the third round to Ryan Posey, who later lost in the final to Sean Moore.
At the Porter Cup, played July 19-23 at Niagra Falls CC in Lewiston, NY, Campbell tied for 29th at 282 (+2) after posting scores of 71-70-71-70. Former Bruin Roy Moon tied for 62nd at 292 (+12).
