No. 14 Stanford Picked to Finish Third in the Pac-10

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford women's soccer has been picked to finish third in the conference, as voted by the conference's coaches in the 2005 Pac-10 preseason poll. Defending co-Conference champion and NCAA finalist UCLA was picked to finish first with eight first-place votes, with the Cardinal and co-Pac-10 champion Arizona both receiving a first-place nod.

The Cardinal finished with 64 points, just one point behind second-place USC. Stanford, one of five conference teams to compete in the NCAA Tournament last year, finished the 2004 campaign with a 13-6-2 record and a fourth-place conference finish with a 4-3-2 mark.

Stanford, ranked No. 14 in the nation, opens the 2005 season at Portland on Saturday, August 27.
