California Announce 2005-06 Schedule

BERKELEY, Calif. - Head Coach Peter Wright announced the 2005-06 schedule for his men's tennis team today. The squad competes in five events during the fall season as a precursor to their spring season which includes 24 competitions.

Highlighting the fall season is the Napa Valley Tennis Classic at Meadowood Resort in St. Helena, Calif. The three-day tournament features Cal, North Carolina, Illinois and Georgia. Tournaments during the fall also include the ITA All American in Tulsa Oka., Wilson/ITA Regional in Santa Clara, Calif., and the ITA National Indoors in Columbus, Ohio.

The spring season kicks off with a tournament in Mexico held at the Las Hadas Resort near Manzanillo. The January tournament showcases Cal, Illinois, Georgia Tech and Boise State. After playing in Mexico, the men's team jumps right into Pac-10 action verses UCLA on Feb. 3. The team hosts 12 competitions in the spring, including seven Pac-10 opponents and the 2005 national runners-up Baylor on Feb. 26.
