Rowe Represents USA at World University Games

IZMIR, Turkey - Former Golden Bears All-American Caleb Rowe added another honor to his collection when he swam for the United States at the World University Games, Aug. 12-17. Rowe took 12th place in a time of 28.71 in the 50-meter breaststroke and placed 13th in a time of 1:02.95 in the 100-meter breaststroke at the Manisa OIM Swimming Pool.
Rowe concluded his senior season by helping the California men's swimming and diving team take fourth place at last March's NCAA Championships. The product of Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, took ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 53.79 and 10th in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:55.78. He also joined Milorad Cavic, Duje Draganja and Rolandas Gimbutis on Cal's fifth-place 400-yard medley relay (3:08.54).
Last April, the NCAA awarded a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship to Rowe, a history and political science double major who graduated from Cal in May with a 3.70 grade-point average. Rowe wants to pursue a joint graduate degree in law and public policy (JD/MPP).
