USC Men's Track And Field Team Excels in Classroom And On The Track

The USC men's track and field team had the highest GPA among all Trojan men's athletic teams during the 2004-05 season and head coach Ron Allice was presented with a certificate this morning (Aug. 25) by athletic director Mike Garrett.

Two of the men's track and field athletes were Pac-10 All-Academic team selections in 2005, with pole vaulter Jacob Hamman being a first-team selection and 800m runner Anthony Heckman being selected as honorable mention.

The USC men's track and field team not only was successful in the classroom, but also enjoyed a very successful season, finishing sixth at the NCAA Championships held in Sacramento, Calif. in June.
