Haddan Leads Bruin Men at CS Fullerton 'Season Opener'

Eric Peterson's UCLA cross country teams opened the season Saturday at the CS Fullerton 'Season Opener' at Craig Regional Park in Fullerton. The UCLA men, not competing in the men's team 8k standings, were individually paced by sophomore Mike Haddan, who placed eighth. The Bruin women won the team title in the 5k race.

Individually, the Bruin men were led by sophomore Mike Haddan, who placed eighth over the 8k course in a time of 26:27.90.

Also placing in the top 15 was senior Nick De Felice, who finished 15th, in 26:58.80. Freshman Ryan Gordon placed 42nd (27:44.80) and redshirt freshman Matt Stollenwerk finished 45th (27:46.70).

Looking Ahead
For the next 10 days, the Bruins will be in Mammoth Lakes for altitude training. The next major cross country event will be Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle, WA.
