Huskies Drop Back to Third at Topy Cup

Fukushima, Japan - The Washington women's golf team dropped back to third place after the second round of competition at the Topy Cup being held at the Tanagura Country Club in Fukushima, Japan. The Huskies shot 29-over 317 after opening play with a 295.

Tohoku Fukushi, one of three Japanese universities competing in the tournament, moved to the top of the leaderboard at 27-over 603 after 36 holes of play. Arizona State moved past UW into second place at 611. The Huskies trail the Sun Devils heading into Thursday's final round by one stroke. Senshu is fourth at 618 while Nihon is fifth at 637.

Washington was led during the second round by junior Amber Prange's 6-over 78. She is tied for sixth overall at 6-over 150. Husky senior Paige Mackenzie dropped back to a tie for third after posting a 7-over 79. She opened by shooting 3-under 68.

Courtney McCracken is 19th at 157 while Kim Shin is 22nd at 158. Sung Ea Lee is 32nd at 169. McCracken posted an 81 during the second round while Shin shot 79. Lee had an 84 during her second round.
