Scouting the Illini: Illinois captured the 100th win in the ninth year of the women's soccer program with a 3-0 victory over Western Illinois last week ... The Fighting Illini are 2-1-1 to start the season, after dropping a 1-0 game at Marquette and finishing in a 0-0 tie at Wisconsin-Milwaukee ... The Illini picked up a 1-0 win against Nebraska before downing Western Illinois, as sophomore goalie Lindsay Carstens posted her third consecutive shutout.

Stanford vs. North Carolina: Stanford is winless against the Tar Heels, having lost six matches and finishing with one tie ... The two squads last met in 2002, when UNC posted a 1-0 victory over the Cardinal at the Saint Mary's Fall Classic ... The two teams finished in a 0-0 tie in their first meeting in 1989.

Scouting the Tar Heels: North Carolina owns the No. 2 ranking and a 4-0 record to start the 2005 season ... Junior forward Heather O'Reilly recorded her first career hat trick last weekend against Davidson College and has five goals and three assists on the season.
