UCLA Baseball Contributes to Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort

Sept. 12, 2005

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Hours before UCLA's football team took the field against Rice last Saturday, UCLA fans, student-athletes and staff members teamed up with the Red Cross to help raise money for those in the Gulf Coast affected by Hurricane Katrina. The results of the donation drive were outstanding as the Bruin family raised $39,297.85, all of which will go directly to the Red Cross and the relief efforts.

Ten UCLA baseball players were part of the donation collection effort. Giving support were current Bruins Will Penniall, Anthony Norman, Brett McMillan, Kevin Brophy and Paul Oseguera and incoming Bruins Tim Murphy, Cody Decker, Tim Stewart, Brady Dolan and Jermaine Curtis

UCLA would like to thank everyone who participated in 'Bruins For Relief' and especially those who generously donated to help those in need.
