Eisenberg Named Pac-10 Co-Player of the Week

BERKELEY, Calif. - California senior forward Liz Eisenberg and Arizona senior midfielder Nikki David and have been named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Co-Players of the Week for Sept. 6-12, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Eisenberg, from San Rafael, Calif., scored the game-winning goals in Cal's 1-0 double OT triumph over No. 24 Dartmouth on Friday and in the 5-0 rout of SMU on Sunday, guiding the Bears to the Saint Mary's Fall Classic title. Against the Big Green, she corralled the ball just inside the midfield line, dribbling through several Dartmouth defenders to nail a left-footed shot from about 12 yards out in the 103rd minute to give Cal the win.
Against the Mustangs, Eisenberg netted Cal's first and fourth goals of the game to give her three goals on the weekend. She leads the team in goals (5), points (10) and game-winning goals (4) this season.
Cal (5-0-1) is off to its best start since opening the 2000 season at 8-0.
David, from Manhattan Beach, Calif., led the Wildcats to two wins over the weekend, including a 2-1 victory over 2004 College Cup semifinalist, Princeton, snapping the Tigers' 19-match home field winning streak. David scored the first goal for UA at 37:51 and assisted on the game-winning goal to claim Thursday's match.
In Saturday's game versus Penn, David assisted on the first two goals of the Wildcat's 4-0 victory over the Quakers. Her six points over the weekend helped Arizona claim the Princeton Invitational title, improving the team's record to 3-1-1 overall.
This is David's first weekly honor and the seventh all-time player of the week recipient for the Wildcats. This is the second such honor for Eisenberg and the 14th all-time Golden Bear winner.
