UCLA Women and Men to Run at Sundodger Invitational on Saturday in Seattle

Eric Peterson's UCLA women and men's cross country teams on Saturday (Sept. 17) will compete at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle, WA. Hosted by the University of Washington, the women's 6000m races and the men's 8000m events will be held at Lincoln Park.Along with the Bruins, some of the West Coast's top cross country teams will be competing at the Sundodger. Last week, the UCLA women's team received national Top 30 votes. The host Washington women are rated No. 27 in the U. S.At 9 a.m. the women's open race will begin and at 10:25 a.m., the women's invitational event will start. At 9:40 a.m., the men's open race will start and at 11 a.m. the men's invitational will begin.
UCLA's Last Competition
The Bruins started the 2005 cross country campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3 at the CS Fullerton 'Season Opener' at Craig Regional Park in Fullerton. The Bruin women won the team title in the 5k race and the UCLA men, not competing in the men's team 8k standings, were individually paced by sophomore Mike Haddan, who placed eighth.Since Sept. 3, the Bruin teams have been at Mammoth Lakes for altitude training.
The Bruin women, running with three true freshmen, won the 5k team title with 105 points, ahead of second-place San Diego State (119) and third-place Cal Coast (136).
Individually, the Bruin men were led by sophomore Mike Haddan, who placed eighth over the 8k course in a time of 26:27.90.
Also placing in the top 15 was senior Nick De Felice, who finished 15th, in 26:58.80.
Following the Sundodger Invitational, UCLA will travel to Minneapolis, MN on Saturday, Sept. 24 to compete at the Roy Griak Invitational.
