Women's Golf Earns Top Five Finish at Season Opening Tournament

CORVALLIS, Ore. - With four Cougars finishing among the top-25, including two in the top-10, the Washington State women's golf team took a fourth place finish at the Oregon State Invitational on the par-72, 6,260 yard Trysting Tree Golf Club, Wednesday.

All-American Anastasia Kostina led the pack of Cougars shooting a 76 (+4) during the final round, completing the tournament at 6-over (222), to finish at a tie for sixth. This marks Kostina's 13th career top-10 finish, giving her sole possession of second on the WSU record books. Sophomore Tracy Broders continued to make an impact for the Cougars as she finished the 54-hole tournament in a tie for 10th.

Newcomers Brooke Henderson and Amy Eneroth finished the two-day tournament in the top-25. Henderson, who transferred from Eastern Washington this summer, finished in a four-way tie for 18th, while Eneroth ended in a tie for 25th. Rounding out the Cougar contingent, Stephanie Parsley finished the season opener tied for 58th.

The women will return to action at the Buffalo Invitational in Broomfield, Colo., Oct. 4-5.
