Gymnastics Hires Former Sun Devil Maggie Germaine As Assistant Coach

Tempe, Ariz. - Maggie Germaine, a former All-American gymnast and graduate of Arizona State, has been hired as an assistant coach, announced head coach John Spini. Her primary coaching responsibilities will be on the floor exercise and the balance beam. Germaine, who earned All-American honors three times, was a member of the Sun Devil gymnastics squad from 2001 to 2004 and earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors three times.
Germaine, who was recognized as one of the finest all-around gymnasts in the nation during her collegiate career, received NCAA All-American honors on the vault and floor events, competed in the NCAA championships in 2003, finishing eighth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.75. During her senior season in 2004, Germaine posted four perfect 10's on the floor exercise along with a perfect 10 on the vault exercise. Upon graduating from ASU in May 2004, Germaine was awarded the Pac-10 Post Graduate Scholarship in recognition of her excellence in both academics and athletics.
Germaine has also served as a coach for many clubs in the area.
Germaine also has extensive experience in fitness and physical training. She currently serves as the Fitness Director at Mountainside Fitness and has formerly been a Physical Therapy Technician at Advanced Spine Rehab and a personal trainer at LA Fitness.
