Softball Alumnae Game Scheduled for October 16

Sept. 16, 2005

LOS ANGELES - UCLA Softball's annual Alumnae Game, traditionally conducted in late January, will take place on Sunday, October 16, 2005, at 1 pm, at Easton Stadium. Changes in NCAA scheduling rules for the sport of softball in 2005-06 made the switch to a fall date necessary.

The day's activities will feature a question-and-answer session with three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Lisa Fernandez. Several of UCLA's other Olympians, including Stacey Nuveman and Natasha Watley are expected attend the event, along with recent graduate All-Americans including 2004 seniors Keira Goerl and Claire Sua.

Admission to the Alumnae Game is free to the public. Parking will be available in Lot 11 (across the street from Easton Stadium) for $8 per car.

Current and former UCLA players will be divided into two teams for a shortened game at Easton Stadium. In a change from recent years, there will not be a clinic held in conjunction with this event.
