Husky Golfers Ranked 9th in Coaches Poll

Seattle - The Washington men's golf team is ranked ninth in the first poll published by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Washington returns all five of its starters from last year's team that finished third at the NCAA Championships, including individual champion James Lepp.

The Huskies are the highest-ranked Pac-10 team in the poll. Georgia, the defending NCAA team champion, received 20 of the 25 first-place votes.

Washington tops five Pac-10 teams ranked in the poll. Arizona State is 10th while USC is 11th, UCLA is 13th and Arizona is 22nd.

Washington was also ranked ninth in Golfweek's preseason poll and fifth in the GolfWorld standings.
