Schreefel Leads USC At Dick McGuire Invitational

Sophomore Dewi Schreefel shot a 2-under 71 to lead the USC women's golf team in the second round of the Dick McGuire Invitational at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M., on Tuesday (Sept. 27).

The Trojans finished with a combined 300 for the day (+8) and are at 593 for the tournament in sixth, seven shots back of leaders Pepperdine and Texas A&M (586).

Schreefel's day included an eagle on the par-5 10th hole as well as a pair of birdies. Fellow sophomore Paolo Moreno shot a par 73 and was actually 3-under after 14 holes.

Senior Irene Cho shot a 77 (+4) while junior Veronica Feilbert and senior Tanya Dergal both posted 79s (+6).

Schreefel leads USC overall at 144 (-2), tied for seventh. Moreno is at 148 (tied for 19th) and Cho is at 149 (tied for 25th). Felibert's 152 is tied for 37th.

The invitational wraps up Wednesday (Sept. 28).
