Sun Devils Open NCAA Preview in Fourth Place

Georgia leads the field with a four-under 284 after Monday's first round of the 17th annual Ping/Golfweek NCAA Preview held at the Crosswater Golf Course in Sunriver, Ore.

The sixth-ranked Arizona State University carded a four-over 292 and is currently in fourth place. ASU is just eight shots off the leader.

Individually, 2003 NCAA champion and three-time All-American Alejandro Canizares had the best Sun Devil round with a one-under 71. He is tied for seventh.

ASU's Lenny Park carded a one-over 73 and is currently tied for 16th. Freshman Benjamin Alvarado and 2005 All-American Niklas Lemke shot a two-over 72 and are tied for 27th. Sophomore Phil Telliard shot a seven-over 79 to place tied for 61 after the first round on Monday.
