Women's Tennis Results from Cal Nike Invitational- Day Two

After two days at the Cal Nike Invitation, the ASU Women's Tennis team has their first opportunity at taking home a doubles title.

The team of Jessica Leitch and Laila Abdala defeated Cal's Cristina Visico and Jessica Shu 8-5 to advance to the Blue Doubles draw Finals, where they will meet Cal's Claire Ilcinkas and Marn. Ravelojaona for the championship.

ASU's other two doubles teams fell in the Gold Doubles semi-finals. Rebecca Rankin and Sabrina Cappanolo were defeated by New Mexico's Iva Gersic and Maja Kovacek 8-2, while Kady Pooler and Roxanne Clarke fell to North Carolina's Jenna Long and Sara Anundsen 8-5.

On the singles side, both Kady Pooler and Sabrina Cappanolo were eliminated in the Gold Draw quarterfinals. Cappanolo was knocked off by Cal's Stephanie Kusano 6-2, 6-2, and Pooler went down to Maja Kovacek of New Mexico 7-5, 6-2. Rebecca Rankin was also defeated in the Blue Draw quarters, falling to Cristina Visico of Cal 6-2, 6-3.
