Bruch Wins Second Straight Match at All-American Championships

Freshman Matt Bruch won his second consecutive match in the qualifying round at the Polo Ralph Lauren Men's Tennis Championships today at the University of Tulsa. Bruch, playing in his second collegiate match, beat Dabir Pramod of Illinois 6-4, 7-6 (2). Bruch will play Tommy Garrison of Oklahoma in the round of 32 on Wednesday.

In doubles competition, Bruch and teammate James Wan won their opening match in the qualifying round, but lost in the second round and were eliminated from the tournament. Bruch and Wan defeated Shannon Buck and Trevor Johnson of Air Force 8-5 in the opening round, then lost 8-1 to Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski of New Mexico in the round of 32.

Wan and All-American KC Corkery, who is seeded ninth in the tournament, will begin play in the main singles draw on Thursday. Corkery and James Pade will compete in the main draw of the doubles tournament, which also begins on Thursday.
