Men's Tennis Continues Play at ITA All-American

TULSA, Oka. - The California men's tennis continued action at the Polo/ITA All American Tennis Championship on Tuesday. Junior Tyler Browne competed in the second round of the singles qualifying round, and senior Lennart Maack and Daniel Sebescen competed in the singles consolation. Browne and Sebescen teamed up for the first and second rounds of doubles qualifying also on Tuesday.
Individually, Browne defeated Andrew Stubbs of Wofford, 6-3; 6-2 to advance into the qualifying single's third round. On the consolation side, Maack rebounded from his opening round loss on Wednesday by defeating Duke's Peter Rodrigues in two sets, 6-1; 6-2. Sebescen also grabbed a victory in the consolation bracket when he outlasted Colorado's Mark Bundalo 1-6; 6-2; 1-0 (10-8). Both Maack and Sebescen will continue play on Wednesday in the qualifying consolation bracket.
In doubles, the pair of Browne and Sebescen defeated Tulsa's Diego Camacho and Alek Charpantidis 9-8 (7) in the first round. The duo turned around to faced TCU's Rafael Abrue and Jacopo Tezza in the second round of qualifying. The Horn Frogs' pair got the best of Browne and Sebescen defeating the two, 8-6.
On Wednesday, Browne will square off in the third round of singles qualifying, while Maack and Sebescen continue play in the qualifying consolation. The singles' main draw begins on Oct. 6 in Tulsa. The tournament is being held at Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the Tulsa University campus.
