Men's Tennis Opens Action at ITA All-American

TULSA, Oka. - The California men's tennis opened plat at the Polo/ITA All American Tennis Championship on Monday. Three Golden Bears competed in the singles qualifying round at Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the Tulsa University campus. Junior Tyler Browne defeated his opponent, senior Lennart Maack and junior Daniel Sebescen both fell in the first round.

Browne was Cal's lone victory, defeating his opponent Nate Emge of Kentucky in three sets, 4-6; 6-2; 6-1. Maack, who is the No. 5 seed, fell to Georgia's Strahinja Bobusic 6-1; 4-6; 7-5. TCU's Rafael Abreu got the best of Sebescen defeating him 7-6 (5); 7-5.

Browne advances to the next round of singles qualifying on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The singles' main draw begins on Oct. 6 in Tulsa. Browne and Sebescen will also begin competition in doubles qualifying starting Tuesday, Oct. 4.
