  • Let the Conference games begin ... Pac-10 women's soccer posted a 61-31-12 (.644) overall record through non-conference action, and will open up the league portion of play this weekend.

  • The Pac-10 currently has five teams in the national rankings, as UCLA is ranked fourth in all three polls for the third consecutive week ... Also topping the national lists: CALIFORNIA (13th, NSCAA), STANFORD (15th, SA), ARIZONA (23rd, SA) and USC (27th, SB).

  • In front of the eighth-largest crowd ever at Maloney Field, 1,718 fans saw sophomore midfielder Rachel Buehler score the game-winning goal to give Stanford a 1-0 upset over fifth-ranked Santa Clara ... The win marked only the seventh Cardinal victory in the 28-game series.

  • OREGON, 8-1-1 on the year, now owns the best 10-game mark in school history ... UO has won a school-record six straight games, and its current unbeaten streak sits at seven.

  • ARIZONA STATE senior forward Elizabeth Bogus continues to climb up the Sun Devil career charts ... With her two assists and one goal over the weekend, Bogus takes over the No. 2 spot for both career points and goals with 72 and 28, respectively.

  • Haley Thompson-Miller, a WASHINGTON STATE senior forward, picked up two goals and two assists to tally six points on the weekend ... Thompson-Miller scored the game-winner against Montana to guide the Cougars to their seventh win on the year.

  • This week's schedule is highlighted by the following: Oregon and OREGON STATE will travel to Arizona and Arizona State, while WASHINGTON and Washington State will head to the Bay Area schools, California and Stanford ... In traditional rival action, UCLA will host USC for LA bragging rights.


  • ARIZONA Wildcats
    Arizona, 5-3-2 on the year, was edged by No. 15 BYU, 2-1, on Sat., Oct. 1 in its lone match of the week ... Senior midfielder Mallory Miller scored the Wildcat goal, as she leads the Pac-10 in goals per game (1.00), points per game (2.10), while also being tied for first in goals (10) and points (21) ... UA leads the Conference in saves, with 58 total, averaging almost six per contest ... The Wildcats are currently ranked as high as 23rd in the latest version of the Soccer America poll ... The squad will host Oregon on Fri., Oct. 7 and Oregon State on Sun., Oct. 9 to open up the Conference portion of play.

  • ARIZONA STATE Sun Devils
    Arizona State fell to BYU, 3-1, on Thurs., Sept. 29, but rebounded with a double overtime 2-2 tie against San Diego on Sun., Oct. 2 to bump its record to 5-4-2 on the year ... Senior forward Elizabeth Bogus netted one goal and two assists over the weekend to take over the No. 2 positions on both the career points and career goals list at ASU with 72 and 28, respectively ... Bogus paces the Pac-10 in shots (61) and shots per game, at a 5.55 average ... Sophomore forward Lara Kezer scored her first career goal as a Sun Devil in Sunday's match ... Arizona State leads the Conference in shots (213) and corners (68) ... ASU stays home this weekend to take on Oregon State on Fri., Oct. 7 and Oregon on Sun., Oct. 9 at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

  • CALIFORNIA Golden Bears
    California, 7-2-1, had a bye last week following its final non-conference matches of the regular season ... Senior goalkeeper Ashley Sulprizo leads the Pac-10 in goals against average, having only given up four scores all year, good enough for a 0.42 average ... Sulprizo is also tied for first in save percentage, with an .852 mark ... As a team, the Bears rank second in the league in goals against average at 0.46 ... California opens Pac-10 play with a home stand featuring Washington on Fri., Oct. 7, followed up with a Sun., Oct. 9 contest with Washington State.

  • OREGON Ducks
    Oregon posted two wins over the weekend, defeating Nevada, 2-1 on Fri., Sept. 30 and taking care of Wyoming, 1-0 just two days later ... The Ducks, now 8-1-1 on the year, own the best 10-game mark in school history, having won a school-record six straight games ... Senior forward Nicole Garbin scored her sixth game-winning goal, 12th of her career, against Nevada on Friday ... Garbin also became just the third Duck to surpass 50 career points with 51 (19 goals, 13 assists) ... Freshman goalkeeper Jessie Chatfield was named MVP of the UniWyo Shootout, credited with seven saves on the weekend ... Garbin and senior midfielders Cristan Higa and Caitlin Gamble, who scored the game-winner against the Cowgirls, joined Chatfield on the all-tournament team ... UO will open Pac-10 play at Arizona on Fri., Oct. 7, heading to Tempe to take on Arizona State on Sun., Oct. 9.

  • OREGON STATE Beavers
    Despite Oregon State's match against Portland State being cancelled on Fri., Sept. 30 due to major traffic congestion, the Beavers did not get distracted, taking the No. 2 team in the country, Portland, to overtime just two days later, before falling 2-1 to the Pilots ... Sophomore forward Jodie Taylor scored the game-tying goal for OSU, as the Beavers pushed the title-contenders to their first overtime game of the season ... Taylor leads the team with seven goals, five assists and 19 points ... Oregon State is 7-3 on the year and received votes in the Soccer Buzz poll ... Junior goalkeeper Melissa Onstad is tied for first in the Pac-10 in save percentage with an .852 mark, having stopped 46 shots through 10 games played ... Oregon State will head to the desert to take on Arizona State on Fri., Oct. 7 and Arizona on Sun., Oct. 9 to open league play.

  • STANFORD Cardinal
    Stanford, now 6-3-1 on the year and riding a three-match win streak, posted two wins in its own Nike Invitational over the weekend, including a 1-0 upset victory over fifth-ranked Santa Clara on Fri., Sept. 30 to claim the tourney title ... Sophomore midfielder Rachel Buehler scored her first collegiate goal, and made it a memorable one, notching the game-winner against the Broncos, for only the seventh Stanford win in the 28-game series ... Just two days later, Buehler tallied her second game-winner in as many matches, posting the score in the eighth minute against Colorado College in the 2-0 win ... Freshman goalkeeper Alex Gamble notched her fourth shutout of the season and picked up one save in Sunday's contest ... Next up for the Cardinal will be a Fri., Oct. 7 match against Washington State and a Sun., Oct. 9 pairing against Washington ... The game against UW will be televised on Fox Sports Net.

    • UCLA Bruins
    UCLA continued its hot streak, posting two more wins over UC Santa Barbara on Wed., Sept. 28 and Pepperdine on Sun., Oct. 2 by scores of 5-0 and 2-1, respectively ... The Bruins are 10-1 on the year and ranked fourth in all three national polls for the third consecutive week ... Sophomore midfielder Danesha Adams scored two second half goals to give the team a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Waves ... Adams, who also tallied a goal against the Gauchos, finished the week with six points ... She is currently tied for first in the Pac-10 for points, averaging 1.91 per contest ... UCLA continues to pace the league in points (75), goals (26), goals per game (2.36), goals allowed (4), goals against average (0.36) and shutouts (7) ... UCLA will play rival, USC, on Fri., Oct. 7 at Drake Stadium in Westwood.

  • USC Trojans
    USC picked up its fifth and sixth respective wins of the season, with a 2-0 blanking of Long Beach State on Tues., Sept. 27, followed up by a 3-0 shutout over Loyola Marymount three days later ... The Women of Troy, who have posted six shutouts this season, are 6-3-1 headed into Pac-10 play ... Freshman midfielder Stacey Strong and senior forward Tina Sutorius each scored unassisted goals in the game against LMU, while freshman forward Nini Loucks also got in on the action, off a feed from freshman forward Amy Rodriguez ... Rodriguez and senior forward Leah Gallegos also scored in Tuesday's match ... USC has had a whopping 13 different players score this season ... Next up for the team will be a Fri., Oct. 7 competition against neighboring UCLA in Westwood.

  • WASHINGTON Huskies
    Washington fell to second-ranked Portland, 5-0 on Fri., Sept. 30, but rebounded from the loss with a 2-2 double overtime tie against San Francisco just two days later ... The Huskies are 0-8-3 on the year ... Freshman midfielder Jenna Robison tallied an assist and netted the game-tying goal against the Dons, guiding UW to a tie and ending its seven-match losing streak ... Freshman forward Melissa Beal also picked up a score, her fourth of the season, which leads the team ... The two Husky goals ended a 433-minute scoring drought, dating back to Sun., Sept. 11 ... Washington will head to the Bay Area this weekend, going head-to-head with California on Fri., Oct. 7, followed up with a Sun., Oct. 9 contest against Stanford in Palo Alto ... The Cardinal-Husky match will be televised on Fox Sports Net.

    Washington State played in its final non-conference matches of the season, beating San Francisco, 4-0, on Fri., Sept. 30 and posting a 2-1 victory over Montana on Sun., Oct. 2 ... Senior forward Haley Thompson-Miller notched a goal and recorded two assists in the USF match, while senior forward Alix Rustrum also scored two goals against the Dons ... Against Montana just two days later, Thompson-Miller recorded the game-winner with just over a minute left in regulation to give the Cougars their seventh win on the year ... The scores were the first two of the season for the senior, as she totaled six points on the weekend ... Sophomore goalkeeper Brynn Bemis leads the Conference in shutouts per game ... The 4-0 blanking of USF was WSU's third shutout on the year ... Washington State will head to the Bay Area this weekend to take on Stanford on Fri., Oct. 7 and California on Sun., Oct. 9.
