Browne Comes up Short at ITA All American

TULSA, Okla. - Cal junior tennis player Tyler Browne completed the third round of the singles qualifying at the ITA's Polo Ralph Lauren All American in Tulsa, Okla., on Wednesday, falling to Arkansas' Adrians Zguns in three sets.

After loosing the first set to Zguns, Browne bounced back to take the second set; but eventually fell when he lost the third set 6-2. Browne advanced to Wednesday's third round action by defeating Andrew Stubbs of Wofford, 6-3, 6-2, Tuesday in the second round. In opening action on Monday, Browne advanced by outlasting Kentucky's Nate Emge, 4-6; 6-2; 6-1.

None of the three Golden Bears who have competed this week advanced onto the main draw, which begins on Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus. The Bears travel next to the Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara Oct. 7-9.
