Jordan Harvey Named National Player Of The Week By Soccer America
Oct. 5, 2005
UCLA senior defender Jordan Harvey (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley HS) has been selected the National Player of the Week by Soccer America magazine.
Harvey scored two goals and contributed to two shutouts in last week's 2-0 victories over then-No. 3 California and Stanford. Against Cal, Harvey scored with eight seconds remaining to seal the upset win and hand Cal its first loss of the year. On Sunday against Stanford, he scored the game-winning goal in the 34th minute. Defensively, he helped UCLA notch its fifth and sixth shutouts of the season, limiting Cal and Stanford to a total of 13 shots, only five of which were on goal. The Bruins have not allowed a goal at home in four matches this year.
This is Harvey's first National Player of the Week honor. He was also selected the Pac-10 Player of the Week.
