Soccer Falls 3-0 to No. 13 California

BERKELEY, Calif. - Washington State (7-5-1, 0-2-0 Pac-10) suffered its second loss in conference play Sunday falling 3-0 to No. 13 California (9-2-1, 2-0-0 Pac-10) at Edwards Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Golden Bears got on the scoreboard as Tracy Hamm fired a shot from 12-yards out in the 54th minute. Hamm picked up her second goal of the match 11 minutes later settling a Dania Cabello pass and finding the back of the net at the 64:33 mark.

Katie Ratian tallied the final California goal in the 80th minute, beating her defender and slipping a shot past charging Cougar keeper Katie Hultin.

Hultin made 12 stops in the match, tying her for seventh on the Cougar career list for saves in a game and setting both an Edwards Stadium and California opponent record.

The Cougars continue conference play returning to Lower Soccer Field where they host Arizona State Friday, Oct. 14 and Arizona Sunday, Oct. 16.
