Men's Tennis Shines at Bronco Invitational

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The California men's tennis team finished up action at the Bronco Invitational in Santa, Clara, Calif. The Golden Bears won three singles' titles and went undefeated in doubles claiming two titles.
Individually, Senior Dean Wallace defeated UCSB's Ivan d'Argence in the 'blue singles consolation' final (6-3; 6-4). Freshman Eoin Heavey won a singles finale in 'red singles', by easily defeating San Francisco's Thong Tu (6-3; 6-3). Freshman Tore Deleuran recorded a victory for the Bears, by defeating UCSD's Erik Oljala in the 'red singles consolation' final (6-3; 7-5).
The Bears' went undefeated in doubles play at the Bronco Invitational, easily winning two doubles titles. The freshman duo of Heavey and Deleuran teamed to defeat San Francisco's Hogan and Tu in the 'red doubles' final (8-2). Pettit and Nakahara also grabbed a doubles victory in the 'blue doubles' finale for the Bears, winning over Santa Clara's Macek and Rasmussen [9-8(5)].
The Bears will compete next at the Wilson/ITA Regional in Santa Clara, Calif., on Oct. 21-25.
