Washington's Sanja Tomasevic Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington outside hitter Sanja Tomasevic has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 3 - 9, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Tomasevic, a senior from Uzice, Serbia-Montenegro, posted 25 kills, 18 digs and nine blocks against 13th-ranked California in a five-game victory, marking Washington's first match this season that has gone beyond three games. At third-ranked Stanford, she had 20 kills and 11 digs in Washington's second-ever road win against the Cardinal and first since 1989. She added two aces and four blocks for 24 points in the match.
Tomasevic led the undefeated Huskies last weekend with 6.06 ppg and 5.00 kpg, while also contributing 3.22 dpg, 1.44 bpg and 0.33 sapg, with a .327 hitting percentage.
No. 2 Washington (14-0, 5-0) will host No. 22 UCLA on Thurs., Oct. 13 and No. 17 USC on Fri., Oct. 14.
This is Tomasevic's fourth weekly honor and Washington's 17th Player of the Week honor all-time.
