Arizona's Mallory Miller Named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona senior midfielder Mallory Miller has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 4-10, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Tucson, Ariz., native led the Wildcats to a 2-0 Conference start by scoring 10 points over the weekend. In the series with Oregon and Oregon State, Miller posted four goals and two assists to contribute to or score six of the seven Wildcat goals. Her second hat trick of the season came on Friday night, helping Arizona to defeat Oregon 4-2, while breaking the Wildcat record for career goals with 27.
On Sunday against Oregon State, Miller assisted on the first two goals and scored the third goal of the Wildcats' 3-0 victory. With her 14th goal of the year against Oregon State, she has already broken the record for most goals in a season, and also holds the program record for career points with 71.
Miller was a second team All-Pac-10 selection in 2004, a honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection in 2003 and the Arizona Newcomer of the Year in 2002.
Arizona (7-3-2), ranked No. 19 in this week's Soccer Buzz poll, travels to the Washington schools this weekend as Conference play continues.
This is Miller's second Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Arizona's ninth weekly honor all-time.
