Stanford Men's Golf In Fourth At Alister MacKenzie Invitational

Fairfax, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team fired rounds of 280 and 278 on the first day of competition at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. Their two-round total of 558 puts them in fourth place heading into tomorrow's final round. Purdue leads the field (554), followed by Michigan (555) and California (557).

Cardinal Rob Grube sits in second place individually after carding a 66 and a 67 (133) on the day. Grube is just one stroke off the pace set by Michigan's Christian Vozza (132).

Teammates Matt Shin (70-71) and Matt Savage (70-71) both fired a one-under 141 and are tied for 24th overall. Freshman Dodge Kemmer turned in a two-over 144 (73-71) and is tied for 42nd while Cardinal Zack Miller is tied for 49th with a three-over 145 (72-73).

The teams will play a final 18 holes on Tuesday.
