Cho Fires Career-Low Round To Finish 2nd At Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

Senior Irene Cho carded a USC career-low round of 67 to finish second individually, leading the Women of Troy golf team to a third-place finish on the final day of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee C.C. in Sammamish, Wash., on Wednesday (Oct. 12).
Troy finished third overall with 909 strokes (+45), 18 shots back of winner Pepperdine (891). Arizona State was second (892). USC posted the second-lowest round on Wednesday with a 293 (+5), led by Cho's stellar play.
Cho, who entered the final round tied for sixth, posted birdies on the 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th and 9th holes to go 4-under on the front nine and came back with two more birdies on 13 and 18. She finished with a 217 (+1), coming within two shots of tournament winner Jennifer Osborn of Arizona State (215) after starting the day eight back.
Cho's second-place finish was her second-highest at USC. She tied for first at the same invitational as a sophomore two years ago.
Sophomore Dewi-Claire Schreefel, who struggled a bit over the first 36 holes, fired a 72 (even) on Wednesday to finish with 229 (+13), tied for 19th. She was 3-under on the front nine before falling back to par at the end of the day.
Sophomore Paola Moreno finished the invitational tied for 28th (233, +17) after a final-day 78. Junior Veronica Felibert finished with a 76 (+4) on Wednesday and 234 (+18) overall, tying for 33rd. Junior Catalina Marin, after an 82, finished at 239 (+23), tied for 47th.
