Stanford Women's Golf Takes Sixth At Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

Sammamish, Wash. - The Stanford women's golf team, led by Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana's seventh place finish, placed sixth at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational with a three-day total of 923 (300-317-306). The tournament, held at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., was won by Pepperdine who shot a 891. Rounding out the top five were Arizona State (892), USC (909), UNLV (915) and Arizona (918).
Sun Devil Jennifer Osborn took top individual honors with a one-under par 215. USC's Irene Cho was second (217) two strokes off the pace set by Osborn. Pepperdine's Leanne Bowditch took third (221) followed by teammate Carolina Llano (222).
Cardinal Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana led the squad with a tie for seventh after firing a 224 (72-76-76) for the tourney. Teammates Lauren Todd (74-85-75) and Mari Chun (77-76-81) tied for 33rd with a 234. Cardinal Kelly Husted checked in tied for 40th after shooting a 75 in the final round of play (77-83-75--235). Freshman Ki-Shui Liao tied for 54th (80-82-80--242) while Saana Rapakko, competing as an individual, tied for 47th (78-84-77--239).
Stanford is back in action next week when they host the 2005 Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course, October 21-23.
