Women's Basketball Raises Over $12,000 at FITBONES Hot Shot Challenge

Oct. 13, 2005

TEMPE, Ariz. - Charli Turner Thorne and ASU Women's Basketball teamed up with the Arizona Osteoporosis Coalition to host the 2nd Annual FITBONES Hot Shot Challenge at Wells Fargo Arena last night. The event featured a competition between 30 teams of four players, trying to score as many points as possible in one minute.

Not only do the Sun Devils work and play hard on the court, but they also work hard in the community, helping to make last night's event s rousing success. The FITBONES Hot Shot Challenge raised over $12,000 for the AZOC, doubling the amount of money raised during last year's event. Money from the event is used to create public awareness about Osteoporosis, research, and for screening of this disease.

The Arizona State Sun Devils, coming off their first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 1983, open their regular season schedule on November 11th, when they host the WBCA/BTI Classic. ASU will take on perennial power Vanderbilt in their first game. For tickets, call 480-965-2381, or log on to www.TheSunDevils.com.
