Cardinal Women In 13th At Pepsi Intercollegiate

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 303 (+19) on the first day of competition at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate on the par 71 Stanford Golf Course. Top-ranked Duke leads the field with a one-under par 283 and were the only squad to record an under team score for the day. UCLA is second (289) followed by UNLV (292), USC (293), Pepperdine (295) and Oregon State (295).
Rounding out the top 10 were California (296), Washington (296), Arizona (298) and Texas A&M (300).
Only seven golfers carded under par rounds on the day.
Individually, USC's Irene Cho and UCLA's Amie Cochran lead the field after they fired a three-under par 68 on the afternoon. Five golfers are tied for third with a one-under par 70.
The Cardinal were led by Kelly Husted and Mari Chun who both shot a four-over 75 for the day and are tied for 38th. Freshman Ki-Shui Liao is tied for 45th with a five-over 76. Teammate Stephanie Lue, who is competing as an individual, is also tied for 45th. Cardinal Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana carded a six-over 77 and is tied for 52nd along with with Lauren Todd. Jenna Seki, competing as an individual, is tied for 77th at nine-over 80.
Teams will begin teeing off at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and play 18 holes. Play concludes on Sunday with the final 18 holes.
