Oct. 22, 2005
With the Pac-10 Championships a week away, the USC women's cross country team held out several key runners from the Cal State Fullerton Meet Friday (Oct. 21), while the four runners who competed posted season bests and used it as a valuable tune-up.
Sophomore Sara Sisco ran the 5K course in a season-best time of 21:41 to place 70th and lead the Trojans, who were all bunched together between 70th and 79th place at the event.
Sarah Sisco was the second Trojan to finish, coming in 76th with a personal-best time of 22:27. The sophomore, running in her first season for USC, has impressively cut off nearly a full minute and a half since her first race on Sept. 24 at Pepperdine.
Senior Laura Stachan, slowed by injuries earlier in the season, ran her first race for USC this season and finished 78th with a time of 22:43.
Amber Oleson, a senior, ran a season-best 22:49 to finish in 79th place.
Next week, the Trojans travel to Tucson, Ariz. for the Pac-10 Cross Country Championships.
